Unidentified gunmen intercepted a bus with 60 members of Ismaili Shia Muslims (a religious minority) en route to a mosque and indescriminately fired at it with assault rifles and 9-mm handguns.

Thirteen people were wounded.

The wounded passengers were hospitalized, and security forces cordoned off the scene. Several people are in critical condition.

Sixteen women were killed, according to a hospital official.

The attackers managed to escape.
