Tropical cyclone 750-km away from Karachi – heavy rains expected

KARACHI: The meteorological department has stated that Cyclone Ashobhaa lies about 750 kilometres south of Karachi and is expected to move north within 24 hours, ARY News reports.

According to the met department, the weather condition along the coast of Sindh-Makran are likely to remain rough whereas strong winds will start blowing from Monday afternoon.

Heavy rains are expected in Karachi today.

The meteorological department has also stated that the low pressure over the Arabian Sea has transformed itself into a cyclone.

Sindh’s fisherman have been advised to not sail their boats from this afternoon till Thursday while Balochistan fishermen have been advised to not go into the sea from Tuesday to Friday.

The meteorological department has advised the concerned authorities to remain up-to-date with the situation.
