90pc terrorists wiped out from Waziristan: Bajwa
Monday, June 15, 2015 – Islamabad—Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday congratulated the nation particularly the Pakistan Army on completion of one year of Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism.
According to a PM House statement, the Prime Minister said Zarb-e-Azb was the manifestation of the resolve to root-out terrorism from the country.
He said the whole nation was thankful to the mothers, sisters and wives who had sacrificed their sons, brothers and spouses respectively to purge the country of terrorism, and also prayed for them.
“The nation will remember their sacrifices forever due to which Pakistan was successfully eliminating terrorism and heading towards progress,” the Prime Minister commented.
He said those who were fighting on this dangerous front were sacrificing their today for better future of the nation and on the day, the whole nation expressed solidarity with them.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Sunday the military offensive has entered its final phase and termed one year of Zarb-e-Azb as ‘year of success’.
In a statement issued by the defence ministry, Asif paid tributes to the martyred soldiers and citizens, and said “the operation has achieved several successes in the past year.”
He said the nation was grateful for and indebted to the martyrs of armed forces, commending the families of the martyrs for their extraordinary sacrifices.
“We pay our respects to those who have sacrificed their today for a brighter future for the nation,” he added.
He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb, launched to weed out terrorism, has now entered its final phases. The Minister while paying tribute to the families of Shuhada stated that they have offered great sacrifices.
He expressed gratitude to the Shuhada of Zarb-e-Azb and said that those sacrificing their today for the better future of the nation are very respectable.
Meanwhile, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asim Bajwa said on Saturday that military operations against terrorists have ckeared up to 90% of Khyber Agency and Waziristan.
General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the ongoing operation is going successfully.
